Cornetfishes [Fistulariidae]

Description

The Fistulariidae family, or cornetfishes, are recognizable by their extremely elongated bodies and long, pipe-like snouts. These fish have a single dorsal fin located far back on their bodies, near the tail. Cornetfishes are often seen in open waters near reefs where they prey on small fish and crustaceans. They have a worldwide distribution in tropical and subtropical seas.
