Jewel Anemones [Cereus]

Description
Cereus is a genus of sea anemones, often called jewel anemones for their bright, jewel-like coloring and appearance. These anemones are sessile and attach themselves to rocks, coral reefs, or the ocean floor. They have a cylindrical body from which a crown of tentacles protrudes, used for capturing prey. Cereus species are found in a variety of marine environments, from shallow waters to deeper seas. Their vibrant colors and patterns contribute to the visual splendor of underwater ecosystems.
