Description
Crocodylus niloticus, known as the Nile Crocodile, inhabits freshwater habitats throughout Sub-Saharan Africa and is known for its occasional ventures into brackish coastal lagoons and estuaries. This species is one of the most aggressive and is responsible for hundreds of human fatalities annually. They are highly adaptable, capable of living in various aquatic environments but are most commonly found in rivers, lakes, and marshlands. The Nile Crocodile is distinguished by its large size, powerful build, and dark green color, with a row of bony plates running down its back.
