Persicaria-leaved pondweed [Ottelia persica]

Description
Endemic to Iran, this species is found in freshwater habitats. It is characterized by its floating leaves that resemble those of the persicaria plant, and small white flowers that bloom on the water surface. The plant is sensitive to changes in water quality and can be used as an indicator of water pollution.
