Gastrocotyle Hispanica [Gastrocotyle hispanica]

Description
This species is a member of the Gastrocotylidae family. It is known to be a parasite, attaching itself to the gills of the Mediterranean horse mackerel (Trachurus mediterraneus). Similar to other species in its genus, it has a long, flat body and a posterior haptor for attachment. The haptor features two squamodiscs, which are instrumental in its parasitic lifestyle.
