Diclidophoroides spinosus [Diclidophoroides spinosus]

Description
Diclidophoroides spinosus is a species of monogenean, parasitic on the gills of a marine fish. It belongs to the family Diclidophoridae. The species is distinguished by its haptor, or organ used to attach to the host, which does not have clamps. Instead, the haptor carries two squamodiscs. The species has a simple reproductive system, and lacks a male copulatory organ, which is unusual for most Monogenea.
