Description
Diclidophora elongata is a species of marine flatworm in the Monogenea class. It is found on the gills of the round herring. The worm is parasitic and attaches itself to the gills of the herring using a specialized structure called a haptor. The adult worms are hermaphroditic, containing both male and female reproductive organs.
