Description
The Roughscale Sole, also known as Psettina iijimae, is a species of flatfish in the family Pleuronectidae. The species is native to the Western Pacific region, particularly around Japan and Korea. It inhabits the sandy or muddy bottoms at depths of about 100 to 290 meters. The Roughscale Sole has a distinct rough texture on its scales, which gives it its common name. It has a small mouth and eyes located on the right side of the body. Its color varies from brown to grayish, aiding in camouflage against the sea floor.
