Description
The Australian Lungfish, also known as the Queensland Lungfish, is a unique species that has remained virtually unchanged for over 100 million years. This species is native to the Mary and Burnett River systems in Australia. Its distinguishable characteristics include a large, elongated body, a broad head, and a single dorsal fin. The Australian Lungfish can breathe both in water and air, using its highly developed lung in conjunction with its gills. This nocturnal species has a slow movement and a diet consisting of frogs, small fish, and invertebrates.
