The Blue Anchovy, also known as Lycengraulis grossidens, is a species of fish in the Engraulidae family. It is widely distributed throughout the Western Atlantic, from the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea down to Argentina. The species is known for its distinguishable blue color, hence the common name. It thrives in coastal waters and estuaries, and often forms large schools.
