Gastrocotyle hispida [Gastrocotyle hispida]

Description
Gastrocotyle hispida is another monogenean flatworm species that typically infests the gills of marine fish. Much like its relative, G. trachuri, this species is hermaphroditic and uses a haptor to attach to its host. It is distinguished by its densely hairy body, which gives it its name (hispida meaning 'hairy' in Latin).
