Description
Manatee grass is a species of marine grass native to the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. It is characterized by its long, thin, cylindrical leaves that can reach lengths of up to 35 centimeters. The species grows in sandy or muddy substrates in areas with good water clarity and light penetration. It is a primary food source for manatees and sea turtles, hence its common name.
