The Red Velvetfish, also known as Aploactis aspera, is a species of fish in the family Aploactinidae. It is endemic to Australia, found in rocky reef environments along the southern coast. It has a cryptic lifestyle, often hiding in crevices and among seaweed during the day, and emerging at night to feed on small invertebrates.
