Description
The Red Velvetfish, also known as Aploactis aspera, is a species of fish in the family Aploactinidae. It is endemic to Australia, found in rocky reef environments along the southern coast. This species is characterized by its rough, velvety skin and reddish coloration. It has a cryptic lifestyle, often hiding in crevices and among seaweed during the day, and emerging at night to feed on small invertebrates.
