Description
Vulcanella aspera, also known as Rough Vulcanella, is a species of deep-sea sponge found in the Atlantic Ocean. It is typically found at depths of 300 to 1200 meters. As its common name suggests, this species has a rough and irregular surface, which distinguishes it from other species in the genus Vulcanella. The color of Rough Vulcanella varies from light to dark brown. Like other species in its genus, Vulcanella aspera is a filter feeder.
