Southern Acanthascus Sponge [Acanthascus southwardorum]

Description
The Southern Acanthascus Sponge, or Acanthascus southwardorum, is a deep-sea species found in the Southern Ocean, off the coast of Antarctica. It is similar in appearance to Acanthascus dawsoni, but is generally smaller and has a paler coloration. The species is adapted to the extreme cold and darkness of its habitat, and is known to thrive in depths of up to 3,000 meters.
