Description
The southern sleeper shark is a sleeper shark of the family Somniosidae found circumglobally in southern hemisphere waters between latitudes 40°S and 60°S. They are known for their slow swimming speed and ability to withstand cold water temperatures. Southern sleeper sharks are opportunistic predators, preying on a variety of marine organisms including fish, squid, and crustaceans.
