Description
Thaumatocotyle undulata is a species of monogenean, parasitic on the gills of a marine fish. It belongs to the family Monocotylidae. The species is distinguished by its haptor, which is the organ by which the monogenean attaches itself to the gill of its host. The haptor bears two squamodiscs, one ventral and one dorsal. The sclerotized male copulatory organ, or 'quadriloculate organ', has the shape of a tube, with an internal channel. The species has two buccal suckers located at the level of the pharynx.
