Variegated Poacher [Leptagonus decagonus]

Description
The Variegated Poacher, also scientifically known as Leptagonus decagonus, is a species of fish in the family Agonidae (poachers). It is the only species in the genus Leptagonus. This species is found in the northern Pacific Ocean, specifically from the Sea of Japan and across the Aleutian Islands to southern California. It is a demersal species, meaning it lives and feeds on or near the bottom of the seas. It prefers a rocky environment and has a depth range of 18 - 1285 m. The Variegated Poacher is characterized by its elongated body, large pectoral fins, and the presence of two sharp spines on the gill cover.
