Ventralis lanternshark [Ebosia ventralis]

Description
The Ventralis lanternshark is known to dwell in the western Pacific Ocean near Japan, specifically Honshu Island. This species is found at depths of 230 to 500 meters. This small shark species is distinctive for its blackish-brown color and the absence of flank markings, which are commonly found in other species of the same genus.
