Il Circolo è nato nel 1983 come una sezione del Lerici Sport e poi divenuto una struttura a se stante riunisce un gruppo di appassionati subacquei.
Allora ed adesso la ragioni per cui il Circolo fu fondato ed esiste sono sono due:
- fornire ai propri soci i servizi necessari per fare immersioni (uno spazio per bombole e attrezzature, un compressore ed un locale per riunirsi nella posizione più vicina possibile alle barche)
- diventare un luogo di incontro per organizzare insieme e con altri immersioni e uscite in mare
