Description

Naticidae, or moon snails, are a family notable for their large, rounded shells and voracious predatory habits. They have a distinctive appearance with a globular body whorl and a small aperture. Moon snails are adept burrowers, using their large, muscular foot to hunt for prey, including bivalves and other snails. They envelop their prey with their foot and use a radula to drill through the shell.
