Pseudocerotids [Pseudocerotidae]

Description

Pseudocerotidae, commonly known as pseudocerotid flatworms, are a family of brightly colored, often large polyclads. They are distinguished by their ruffled edges and the presence of two tentacle-like structures at the head, known as pseudotentacles, which are used for sensory purposes. Pseudocerotids are benthic, living on or near the seabed, where they prey on small invertebrates. Their striking colors and patterns are believed to be a form of warning coloration to deter predators.
