Velutinids [Velutinidae]
Description
Velutinidae, or velutinids, are a family of small to medium-sized marine gastropods with soft, often velvety bodies and reduced internal shells. These snails are found in a variety of marine environments, from intertidal zones to deeper waters, where they feed on cnidarians and other soft-bodied invertebrates. Their cryptic appearance provides camouflage against predators.
