Hairy Tritons [Cymatium]

Description
Cymatium, commonly known as the hairy tritons, comprises a diverse group of predatory sea snails. These snails are easily recognizable by their robust, often spiny or hairy shells, which vary widely in color and pattern. The genus is named for the wave-like (cymatium) structure found on the lip of the shell in many species. Cymatium species are distributed globally, from tropical to temperate waters, and they feed on a variety of invertebrates, including mollusks and starfish.
