Description

Glaucilla is a genus within the family Glaucidae, consisting of very small pelagic sea slugs. These creatures are known for their delicate, transparent bodies with shades of violet and blue, often featuring contrasting stripes or spots. Like their relatives in the genus Glaucus, they float upside down on the surface of the ocean, feeding on hydrozoans. Their small size and the ability to float are facilitated by a gas-filled sac in their stomach, aiding in their distribution across oceans.
