Description
The Atlantic Slit Limpet (Tectura testudinalis) is a marine gastropod mollusk. The species lives in the western Atlantic Ocean, from Greenland to the Gulf of Maine. It is usually found on rocky substrates. The shell of this limpet is oval and conical with a small hole or 'slit' near the top. The shell color ranges from brown to greenish-brown. The slit in the shell is used to excrete waste products.
