Description
This species is found in the western Atlantic Ocean, from Florida and the Bahamas, throughout the Caribbean Sea, to Brazil. It inhabits rocky substrates, often with substantial algal growth. The West Indian fuzzy chiton is known for its distinctive plate covering, which is ornamented with granules and has tufts of bristles on the margins.
