Black-girdled chiton [Parachiton nigrocinctus]

Description
The Black-girdled chiton, scientifically known as Parachiton nigrocinctus, is a marine mollusk species distinguished by its black girdle and eight overlapping valves. It is usually found in the intertidal and subtidal zones of rocky shores. This species primarily feeds on algae which it grazes off the rocks using its radula. It has a slow movement and is more active during the night.
