Brown Chiton [Parachiton brunneus]

Description
The brown chiton, or Parachiton brunneus, is characterized by its brown coloration and a distinct longitudinal ridge on each plate. This species is found in the intertidal zones of temperate waters. It prefers rocky substrates where it can hide during the day and emerges at night to graze on algae.
