Description
Daisy chiton, also known as Callistochiton viviparus, is a small chiton species with a maximum length of 2 cm. It has eight shell plates with a characteristic pattern that resembles a daisy flower. The color varies from pink to red and brown. Daisy chiton is distributed in the northeastern Pacific Ocean along the coast of California. It is a benthic species that lives in rocky substrates, from the intertidal zone to depths of 40 meters.
