Marbled monoplacophoran [Monoplacophorus zenkevitchi]

Description
The Marbled monoplacophoran, scientifically known as Monoplacophorus zenkevitchi, is a species of deep-sea mollusk in the class Monoplacophora. It is found at depths of between 3,000 and 7,000 meters in the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans. This species is characterized by its single, cap-like shell which is typically white or cream in color and features a marbled pattern. The Marbled monoplacophoran has a radula used for scraping food particles off of the ocean floor. It has a slow, creeping mode of locomotion.
