Red monoplacophoran [Monoplacophorus ruber]

Description
The Red monoplacophoran, or Monoplacophorus ruber, is another species of deep-sea mollusk in the Monoplacophora class. It is primarily found in the Atlantic Ocean at depths ranging from 2,500 to 6,500 meters. As its name suggests, this species possesses a reddish-colored, cap-like shell. Similar to its marbled relative, the Red monoplacophoran has a radula for feeding and creeps along the ocean floor. It has a unique ability to withstand high-pressure environments.
