Silky Chiton [Leptochiton cancellatus]

Description
A species distributed in the North Atlantic and Mediterranean. It is characterized by a smooth, glossy shell. Found in the intertidal and subtidal zones, it grazes on algae and detritus. It is a nocturnal species, generally hiding during the day and emerging at night to forage.
