Description
Neopilina rebecqui, commonly known as the True Monoplacophoran, is a species of deep-sea mollusk. It has a small, white, cap-shaped shell and a segmented body. Unlike other mollusks, it has repeated internal organs, a trait that it shares with its ancient ancestors. It inhabits the deep sea, usually found at depths of 3,500 to 6,000 meters. Its behavior and diet are largely unknown due to the difficulty of studying these creatures in their natural habitat.
