Vema's Gorgonian Sea Fan [Swiftia vema]

Description
A species of gorgonian, or sea fan, that is endemic to the Vema Seamount. It is a large, fan-shaped coral, with branches that are covered in small, polyp-bearing tubes. The coral is typically orange or red in color. It is a benthic species, found on rocky substrates in deep water.
