Horned Pondweed [Phyllospadix]

Description

Phyllospadix, known as horned pondweed or surfgrass, is a genus of seagrasses in the family Zosteraceae. Unlike other members of this family, Phyllospadix species are adapted to grow on rocky substrates in the intertidal to subtidal zones along rocky shores and cliffs, primarily in temperate and subtropical regions. They have tough, narrow, and often serrated leaves that can withstand strong wave action.
