Spectacled Porpoise [Australophocaena]
Description
Australophocaena is a genus represented by the Spectacled Porpoise, known for the distinctive dark rings around its eyes which give it the appearance of wearing spectacles. This genus is notable for its preference for cold Southern Hemisphere waters, particularly around Tierra del Fuego and the Falkland Islands. Spectacled Porpoises are rarely seen due to their remote habitat, making observations and studies on them quite limited. They have a striking black and white coloration, with a predominantly black body and white underparts.
