Banded Sleeper Ray [Narke capensis]

Description
The Banded Sleeper Ray, or Narke capensis, is a species of electric ray in the family Narkidae, endemic to the coastal waters of South Africa. This species is recognized by its almost circular pectoral fin disk, short tail, and the presence of conspicuous dark bands across the body and tail. It inhabits sandy or muddy bottoms in shallow, inshore waters. Like all electric rays, it has the ability to generate electrical discharges for prey capture and defense.
