Chinese Alligator [Alligator sinensis]

Description
The Chinese Alligator is a critically endangered species of alligator native to the Yangtze River basin in China. It is a small to medium-sized crocodilian, typically reaching lengths of 5 feet, though some individuals have been known to grow to over 7 feet. It is known for its fully armored body, including its belly, and a broad snout that is well adapted for digging in the marshy areas it inhabits. Its diet consists mainly of snails, clams, and other mollusks, as well as fish, amphibians, and crustaceans. It is one of only two alligator species worldwide, the other being the American Alligator.
