Malukan Sea Wasp [Chironex yamaguchii]
Description
Chironex yamaguchii, or the Malukan Sea Wasp, is a species of box jellyfish found in the waters around Japan and the Maluku Islands in Indonesia. It is similar in appearance to its Australian relative, C. fleckeri, but is less venomous. Like other box jellyfish, C. yamaguchii has a cube-shaped bell and long, slender tentacles.
