Description
The Melon-headed Whale, also known as the electra dolphin, is a species of dolphin that is found in deep waters in the tropical and subtropical regions of the world. They are known for their somewhat small size, typically ranging from 2.5 to 3 meters in length. They have a black or dark gray body, with a lighter gray belly and a rounded, melon-shaped head, hence the name. They are highly social creatures, often found in large pods of hundreds or even thousands of individuals. They feed primarily on squid and small fish.
