Pondicherry Shark [Heteronarce prabhui]

Description
The Pondicherry Shark, or Heteronarce prabhui, is a little-known species of electric ray in the family Narkidae. It is endemic to the northeastern Indian Ocean, including the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. It is typically found at depths of 90–200 m in muddy or sandy habitats. The Pondicherry Shark has a broad, thick, and heart-shaped pectoral fin disc, a short and thick tail, and a small caudal fin with a rounded tip. It is known for generating a strong electric shock for defense and prey capture.
