Description
Ceratophyllum submersum, or soft hornwort, is a fresh water species found across the globe. It is similar to other species of hornwort, but is distinguished by its softer texture. This species is free-floating and does not put down roots, although it can become loosely anchored in mud. Its leaves are whorled and it is known for its ability to grow rapidly and cover large areas of water.
