Description
Cranchiidae, commonly known as Cranchiids or glass squids, have nearly transparent bodies and are characterized by their large buoyant mantles. These squids have small fins located towards the rear of their bodies. They inhabit deep-sea environments and are known for their ability to regulate buoyancy through an ammonia-filled cavity within their mantles.
