Kobi Cuttlefish [Euprymna]

Description
Euprymna is a genus within the family Sepiadariidae, with species commonly referred to as kobi cuttlefish. These small cephalopods are found in shallow waters of the Indo-Pacific region. Euprymna species have a distinctive round, bulky body shape and are capable of rapid color changes, thanks to their well-developed chromatophores. They are known for their mutualistic relationship with bioluminescent bacteria, which they harbor in a specialized organ located in their mantle cavity. This symbiosis allows them to produce light, a phenomenon they use for counter-illumination camouflage, predator avoidance, and communication. Kobi cuttlefish primarily feed on small fish and crustaceans, capturing their prey with a swift extension of their tentacles.
