Wrinkled Rock Snail [Thais lapillus]

Description
The Wrinkled Rock Snail, also known as the Dog Whelk, is a species of sea snail that can be found from the north east Atlantic to the Mediterranean Sea. It has a robust, solid shell with a pointed spire and a rounded body whorl, usually a grayish white color but can be other colors due to diet or environment. They can live in a variety of habitats from the lower intertidal zone to subtidal areas. This species is carnivorous and feeds on mussels, barnacles and other hard-shelled prey.
