Description
Uroteuthis edulis, commonly known as the Swordtip Squid, is a species of squid in the family Loliginidae. It is found in the western Pacific Ocean, including the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea. The Swordtip Squid is characterized by a slender, elongated body with a pointed tail. It has two large, round fins at the end of its body. Its behavior includes swift, darting movements in the water and it feeds on a diet primarily made up of small fish and crustaceans. It is also known for its ability to change color rapidly, a feature which it uses for communication and camouflage.
