New Zealand Arrow Squid [Nototodarus sloanii]

Description
New Zealand Arrow Squid is a medium-sized squid that grows up to 50 cm in mantle length. It is a short-lived species, with a lifespan of only about one year. The species is found throughout the waters surrounding New Zealand, particularly in the South Island where it is commercially harvested. It has a streamlined body for fast swimming and two long tentacles for catching prey. The body is soft and gelatinous with a reddish-brown color.
