Canterbury chiton [Rhyssoplax canterburiensis]

Description
Also known as the Canterbury chiton, this species is endemic to the waters of New Zealand. It is characterized by a shell with six to eight plates and a reddish-brown color. It is typically found in rocky environments, particularly those with strong wave action. Its distinguishing features include a wide girdle and a shell that is smooth and glossy.
