Description
Grimalditeuthis bonplandi, commonly known as the Grimaldi Squid, is a species of squid in the family Cranchiidae. It is the only known species within the genus Grimalditeuthis. It has a unique method of hunting, where it uses its tentacle clubs, which resemble small squids, to lure its prey. The squid is deep-sea dwelling and has been found in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The Grimaldi Squid is characterized by a thin, fragile body, with a large, inflated mantle and short arms.
